Recycle, recycle, recycle
This used to be an OLD NAVY sweater. 100% lambswool. The color was so wonderful, I just had to have that yarn. I wasn't going to wear this shapeless yumminess and my husband, despite his protests, doesn't wear sweaters. So I decided to frog it! I love the pattern in front, too. I have yet to try a project with fair isle but as I was ripping it, it didn't see to complicated. The biggest issue I can tell was keeping the tension even. I have 2 balls so far from the front and 1 sleeve.
BABY TALK
A picture is worth a thousand words...sigh...7 more weeks!
Arroz con Pollo
I have discovered jasmine rice. Ooooo chil'! It brings me back to when I was living in the West Indies! So I made some arroz con pollo (chicken cooked together with rice, tomato sauce and spices).
This is pretty much what was left. Yes, a good amount of rice stuck to the bottom, also bringing me back to days when mommy made me scrub the bottoms of cast iron dinner pots (age 7 and beyond). Oh how I hated that job! Then the saying "don't have a pot to p*ss in nor a window to throw it out of" grounded me and I just soaked the blasted thing. Later, I wiped out the rice with little effort, grateful not to hafta scrub it and even more grateful to have a pot.
In the vein of recycle, I would love to offer my lastest read The Friday Night Knitting Club, to the first one to request it. It was a great page turner. Had a little bit of a Steel Magnolia feel to it. By the by, I hear it is on it's way to becoming a movie, with none other than Julia Roberts!

I'd love to have that book if no one has requested it. I can give you Debbie Macomber's knitting novel, "Back on Blossom Street" if you'd like.
Ok Nik's got it!
See what happens when I soooo behind on blog reads!
I heard it is a great read! I am going to try it on audio, and can't wait to see it with Julia!
Can't wait to see what you will do with the re-purposed Old Navy yarn!
Wow you are almost there! Lookin' good woman! :o)
I so admire crocheters & knitters that recycle their old sweaters... looking forward to your project. Wow are you sure you only have 7 weeks to go... looks like you're ready now....lol. Ahhh Arroz con Pollo... one of my favorites... whadaya talking about rice stuck to the bottom of the pan, my husband would scrapped it out, saying its the best part of the rice - thats where all the seasoning is.... and he calls it Au Gratin Rice...lol
Yes, Jasmine rice is the only kind I use. Yummm. They say with each child you show quicker and get bigger. This wasn't true for me, but man homegirl is making her entrance, ain't she. I'm still jealous.
You know I'll frog a sweater in a second.
