My weight loss journey...

Mom in law and sis in law came up yesterday. "Let's go out to dinner!" Oh no, I thought, my eye started twitching. "Naw, let's have pizza", hubby chimes in. I shoot him a look like "is you crazy?" He recovers with a diner suggestion. I'm thinking great, I'm sure I can find something there and not lose focus. Focus me, focus! After scanning the menu for about 10 minutes, my eyes settle on something that sounds reasonably sane and at the same time yummy. New Orleans Chicken Salad. MMMhhhmmm! "Dressing on the side please", I beamed proud of my decision. 15 minutes later, as I began to swoon from hunger, here comes my eh hem plateau. Wow, that's a lot food, I think to myself. After my little one prays, I take a stab at my plate. Hold up! I move some things around, there sure is a lot of bacon and cheese in here, where is the lettuce? Seriously???? I have never in my life order a salad and wondered where the lettuce was. I may have commented on the amount of meat under my breath, holding back the temptation to ask if there was a mighty chicken shortage I was not aware of. This, however was a meat lovers salad, today anyway. I dug through, as best as I could, all the gooey melted cheese and bacon conglomeration in search of lettuce. I must say that what managed to stick to the rare pieces of lettuce was "oh goodness, yes" good. I had to take about 3/4 cup of blackened chicken, sans cheese and bacon, home for a wrap tomorrow. Do you ever notice that when you make up your mind to do something, the universe tests to see how serious you are? Sigh, what's a crack head to do?

I am constantly being tested by the universe to see how long I stay on track with my exercise routine.
